KYOCERA AVX ESD-Safe™ MLC Capacitors are designed specifically for general Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) protection of I/O gates. These capacitors are AEC-Q200 qualified and ideal for use on nearly every pin of an automotive module where ESD issues can arise during the initial assembly/mating to the harness. These enhanced capacitors average the electrical potential of two objects due to ESD charging. The wide capacitance value range (1nF to 2.2µF) ensures the correct capacitance is selected to minimize the distortion of the circuit.
